*UiTM Penang*

My father and I went to UiTM Penang to register Amim into his diploma program. He takes electrical engineering. This campus is the new campus for UiTM at Penang. It only has one hostel block for boys and girls each.

For this reason, I missed Fauzana's pot luck at Titiwangsa lake. (If I'm not mistaken) Sorry Paoie... (-_-)

All the best for my brother. Hope he can survive by being far away from his hometown.

Bukit Gasing

Everyone came into difficulties when they need to choose a topic for BIOL1030 video assignment. My group too. We can't simply pick any topic, as a real scientific data MUST be available for this project. We put lots of effort calling all GOs and NGOs we could find in the internet.

Yeah, sad to say that bureaucracy do limit our network and also succeed in putting us down. We almost gave up. Whenever we made calls, these GOs kept on holding it or passed it to someone else.

After so many obstacles, we finally made own decision to go to Bukit Gasing by our own. Depend solely on Nadzirah as my map reader (yg sgt ske buat ak cuak, kot2 la salah jln ke ape...) we managed to arrive safely. =]

But we haven't get the chance yet to really hike this secunder forest. Can't wait for this Sunday. Dr Khalitasan will assist us in our project =D

Field trip: UM

I went to Botanic Garden, UM last Saturday as part of out BIOL1030 field trip.
I saw thousands magnificent species which I once thought,"owh that's just another tree"
Now I learn to be more sensitive with my green surrounding.

Chemistry Video Conference

We had a link up session with UQ's pass leader at early as 8.am. Fuh.... Luckily the session went smoothly. This pass session was meant for CHEM1030. And our seniors were also 2 of the 4 pass leader present at that day. So proud of them. They also earn some money when they work as pass leader. But I never know the figure of their salary.... huhu... That's Micheal and Elaine, and our senior were sitting (not in the camera). We learnt a lot from them. Thanks guys! U're rock!! On the previous day, we had our FIRST prac for chemistry. (gare2 ketiadaan bhn kimia utk experiment pertame) "The extraction of caffeine from instant coffee" The entire class failed to obtain the caffeine crystal due to the fact that we never use an instant coffee. Instead, the lab ass provided us with the blended coffee, not the instant one. Sigh..... Poor us. (-_-)

When bacteria gone mad

It's been a long time since my last post. I got plenty to do and yet, I still go to the Web to do blogging. Aiya... Not good Safwanah, not good.. (-_-)

By the way, to get rid of that guilty feeling, I'm going to post something to do with my BIOL 1030. I just learned about prokaryotes and this micro (and even nano) form of life do fascinate me a lot! And do harm us too, in MANY ways. On of the bad bacteria that I know through this course Flesh-eating bacteria. You can just google it, and I bet you will be suprised when you click on the 'image'. I refuse to download the picture because it might seem unpleasant to my readers.

Ok that's all for now. I have a pile of projects waiting for me. And CMT to be done, eventhough we do have small problem with our CHEM 1030's lecturer. *sigh*

Khusyuk in prayer

I would like to share this with my readers. And also as a piece of reminder for me who sometimes fail to perform my solah with khusyuk. I once performed my Zohor prayer twice, because I felt dissatisfied with the quality of my solah. I tried so hard to recite the meaning of Al Fatihah in my heart, but my mind kept on picturing all the stuff about duniawi.

Seorang ahli ibadah bernama Isam bin Yusuf, dia sangat warak dan sangat khusyuk solatnya. Namun dia selalu khuatir kalau-kalau ibadahnya kurang khusyuk dan selalu bertanya kepada orang yang dianggapnya lebih ibadahnya, demi untuk memperbaiki dirinya yang selalu dirasakan kurang khusyuk.

Pada suatu hari, Isam menghadiri majlis seorang abid bernama Hatim Al-Isam dan bertanya : “Wahai Aba Abdurrahman, bagaimanakah caranya tuan solat?”

Hatim berkata : “Apabila masuk waktu solat aku berwudhu’ zahir dan batin.”

Isam bertanya, “Bagaimana wudhu’ zahir dan batin itu?”

Hatim berkata, “Wudhu’ zahir sebagaimana biasa, iaitu membasuh semua anggota wudhu’ dengan air. Sementara wudhu’ batin ialah membasuh anggota dengan tujuh perkara :-

1. bertaubat
2. menyesali dosa yang dilakukan
3. tidak tergila-gilakan dunia
4. tidak mencari / mengharap pujian orang (riya’)
5. tinggalkan sifat berbangga
6. tinggalkan sifat khianat dan menipu
7. meninggalkan sifat dengki

Seterusnya Hatim berkata, “Kemudian aku pergi ke masjid, aku kemaskan semua anggotaku dan menghadap kiblat. Aku berdiri dengan penuh kewaspadaan dan aku bayangkan Allah ada di hadapanku, syurga di sebelah kananku, neraka di sebelah kiriku, malaikat maut berada di belakangku, dan aku bayangkan pula bahwa aku seolah-olah berdiri di atas titian ‘Sirratul Mustaqim’ dan aku menganggap bahwa solatku kali ini adalah solat terakhirku, kemudian aku berniat dan bertakbir dengan baik.

Setiap bacaan dan doa dalam solat kufaham maknanya, kemudian aku ruku’ dan sujud dengan tawadhu’, aku bertasyahhud dengan penuh pengharapan dan aku memberi salam dengan ikhlas. Beginilah aku bersolat selama 30 tahun.”

Apabila Isam mendengar, menangislah dia kerana membayangkan ibadahnya yang kurang baik bila dibandingkan dengan Hatim.

Chocolate cake recipe

I tried this recipe for the 1st time. And the result is owh lala~ =] (The cheese cake can wait...)

Credit to miss Wan Najwa for her original recipe and taught. (sorry Najwa, the topping was a total mess)Here is the recipe, hope everyone can try it :-

SUBSTANCE A
Butter - 250g
6 eggs
Caster sugar - 250g
Flour - 220g
Baking powder - 2 teaspoons
Vanilla essence - 1 teaspoon

SUBSTANCE B
Chocolate powder - 1 cup
Water - 1 cup
Caster sugar - 1/2 cup

TOPPING
Cook chocolate (depend on the size of the cake)
Some milk (to make it look shiny)
Corn flour

METHOD
1. Melt substance B slowly on the stove till boil, the cool it down.
2. Hand whisk the butter and caster sugar till it become whiter.
3. Put the egg on by one, hand whisk again.
4. Put the flour scoop by scoop.
5. Put the baking powder and vanilla essence, hand whisk.
6. Pour the cooled substance B onto the mixture.
7. Bake in the oven, 125 C for 30 min, 100 C for another 30 min. (depend on the oven)
8. For the topping, melt the cook chocolate. Add some milk and corn flour (to make it more stickier)
9. Add some chocolate rice on top of the cake as decoration.

And wah la, it's done!
